The Second Blockchain Auction for Advertising Inventory on easyJet Boarding Passes Ended Successfully
We are glad to report that the second blockchain auction for advertising spaces on easyJet boarding passes ended successfully on the AdEx mainnet.
One million advertising spaces were sold out to two companies that will now place their ads on boarding passes. The auction took place on the AdEx mainnet, and ended at 11:59 PM CET on December 9, 2017.
A number of carefully selected companies took interest in the invite-only auction. Eventually, two of them decided to bid for the available advertising inventory, thus gaining exposure to easyJet’s 70 million passengers. Their ads will be shown to passengers flying the airline’s European routes in December.
The auction also received significant media coverage; the most notable articles were the ones published by Yahoo Finance and Entrepreneur.com.
We are very happy with the results of the auction, as it demonstrated a real-life use case of blockchain technology for the advertising industry.
